EleaMonitor
EleaMonitor is a device designed to function as a real-time alarm monitoring system.
Monitor ID Configuration
The Monitor ID is the unique identifier that allows the EleaAlert server to send specific alarms to this device. Each device must have a unique Monitor ID that corresponds to the monitor configured on the EleaAlert platform.
To get your Monitor ID, first access the EleaAlert platform. In the left side menu, click the Settings button and locate the Monitor ID field. Then, copy the exact identifier that appears in that field, for example 199-001, and use it in the application.
The configuration in the application is simple. On the Initial Settings screen, enter your Monitor ID in the corresponding field and click the "Continue" button. The Monitor ID will be saved on the device and the application will be ready to receive alarms associated with that identifier.
Internet Connection Configuration
If the device does not have an Internet connection at startup, the Configure Internet screen will appear. This screen allows you to configure the device's network connection either via WiFi or wired Ethernet connection.
To configure the WiFi connection, click the "WiFi" button. Next, click "Scan Networks" for the device to start searching for all available WiFi networks in the environment. Detected networks will appear in a list where you can select the desired network. If the WiFi network has a password, enter it in the corresponding field and then click "Connect". Finally, wait for the connection confirmation to ensure the device is connected correctly.
If you prefer to use a wired connection, click the "Ethernet (Wired)" button. Then connect the Ethernet cable to the device and click "Connect". The system will automatically verify the connection and notify you when it is established.
Administrator Password
The administrator password is required to access restricted application functions, and currently the password must be requested from the support team. This password protects access to sensitive settings and critical system actions.
Status Notification
The device sends a keepalive message every 30 seconds to indicate that it is online and functioning correctly. This message is essential for the server to detect if a device disconnects or stops working.
Alarm Levels
EleaMonitor supports 4 notification levels with different behaviors that allow classifying and managing alerts according to their severity and urgency.
When an alarm arrives, depending on the type, the system decides the behavior:
-
DANGER plays a continuous sound that does not stop until the user silences it, dismisses it, or a reset command is received.
-
WARNING as a configurable timed alarm, whose duration can be from 15 seconds to 4 minutes or continuous (configurable in admin).
-
INFO as a visual notification without sound
-
SUCCESS is not an alarm but a command that the system processes to close the window of the group to which the device that sent this notification belongs. (+ info)
Similarly, when any type of alarm is received on the monitor, a notification with DISPLAYED status is sent to confirm receipt to the EleaAlert platform.
Administration Panel
To access the Administration Panel, open the user menu located in the upper right corner of the main screen and select the "Admin Panel" option. When doing so, the system will request the administrator password.
Inside the Administration Panel, the Monitor ID field allows defining the unique identifier that determines which alarms the device receives. To change it, simply edit the value (for example, from 1-1 or 15-2) and click "Save Configuration". When saving, the service restarts automatically and begins listening for alarms associated with the new identifier, stopping reception of the previous one. This change should be made with caution, especially when the device is reassigned to another location.
The Device Location field defines the physical place where the equipment is installed, such as "Beach" or "Central Office". This information is reflected directly in the interface, showing in the header as "EleaMonitor of [location]", which facilitates quick identification of the device in environments with multiple installations.
In the Buttons on Alarms section, you can configure which actions will be available in the dialogs. The "Silence" button can be enabled or disabled; if disabled, DANGER and WARNING alarms will only allow dismissal, preventing users from turning off the sound without managing the alert. The "Dismiss" button can also be shown or hidden; if disabled, alarms can only be removed through a SUCCESS command sent from the server or using the "Cancel Alarm" option from the panel itself. These settings allow adapting the level of control according to environment policies.
In the Alarm Sound section, you can select the type of sound that will play for an alert. When clicking the selector (for example, "Alarm 1"), a list with four available options is displayed: Alarm 1 (classic), Alarm 2 (emergency), Alarm 3 (continuous) and Alarm 4 (soft siren). The chosen sound will automatically apply to future alarms. Additionally, the "🔊 Test Sound" button allows playing the selected tone for three seconds to verify volume and clarity in the installation environment.
The Alarm Volume section allows adjusting the level between 50% and 100% using a slider.
Finally, in the Warning Alarms section, you can configure the sound duration for this level. The selector allows choosing between 15 seconds (default value), 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 4 minutes or Continuous mode. The Continuous option keeps the sound active until the alarm is dismissed or a reset is received.
Reset (SUCCESS) - Detailed Usage
The reset system allows clearing alarms in two ways: through a full reset, which eliminates all active alarms, or through a selective reset, which only eliminates alarms associated with a specific group. The behavior depends directly on the value of the group field included in the SUCCESS level message.
When the device does not belong to any group and sends a success level notification, a full reset is executed, that is, it eliminates all alarms from all groups that are active on the monitor at that moment.
When the device belongs, for example, to the group "Room1", a selective reset is executed. In this case, the system identifies all active alarms that belong to that group and eliminates only those. For example, if there are 2 active alarms, a DANGER "Fire" alarm in the "Kitchen" group and a WARNING from "Room1" and the system is playing the Fire alarm sound, when receiving a reset with group="Kitchen", only the alarm from that group is eliminated. The "Room" alarm remains active.
Event History
The event history is a record that stores all received alarms, processed resets, and configuration changes. This history allows maintaining a complete tracking of all relevant system activities, which is useful for auditing, problem diagnosis, and trend analysis.
The history has a capacity of up to 100 stored events. When a new event is added and there are already 100 stored events, the oldest event is automatically removed to make room for the new one. This ensures that the history always contains the most recent events without growing indefinitely. Events are ordered from most recent to oldest, which facilitates consulting the most current activities.
